Shirley Jaffe Non-Academic Staff Member, 11-Nov-2009
I have been employed (expenses only) as an experienced pro actress on three films 2008-9 for this School, for second or first yr students, and have been impressed by the dedication, enthusiasm, courtesy and intelligence of the students working on these three projects. Perhaps some feedback to me or asking from some from me would improve the learning the students get from their independent work on the projects. They deal well with sometimes rather out of date equipment. The forward planing seems to be reasonably efficient, and the teamwork is good. I have called myself a staff member in order to be able to post this, though of course I am in fact being employed by the students themselves. Shirley Jaffe

I've only been here two months, but, my God, what a two months it has been. If you are looking for a film school with a good reputation as well as an awesome practical side to it, this is the place for you. The teachers here have some, or alot of industry experience and are alot of fun to work with, the equipment is great, especially the 16mm cameras. As for working with other students, most students you meet are great to work with and have a passion for the craft, there is a small minority of party-boys with no passion that can be a pain to work with, but if you cast them aside and do their practical role as well as your own, then you will be respected by all the tutors on the board. One of the best things aboout the practical side of work is that this place isn't all about being the director or writer/director, most people in this place don't want to be directors, they are all passionate about each role they want to take on board whether it be producer, sound recordist, cinematographer, anything. From a future filmmaking sensation, I highly reccomend this school.

What a waste of time and money! I spent five weeks at this school before I headed back home. Just a bunch of rich partyboys with no passion for film at all. The teachers are boring and wannabe artsy-fartsy and the theory part is just BS. Don't waste your money here!
