The UK has a wide-selection of groups for independent filmmakers. A large percentage of these are of course based in London, however there are also an increasing number of regionally-focused groups popping up around the country.

New Producers Alliance
The New Producer's Alliance is a professionally run support services for filmmakers, primarily in the UK. Membership includes a monthly newsletter, discounts on seminars and courses, free help lines for legal and accountancy advice, a directory of members (approaching several thousand now) and a host of other benefits.

Raindance
Raindance is an organisation that is dedicated to fostering and promoting independent film in Britain. It runs courses, networking events, and of course the Raindance Film Festival, the UK's premiere event for independent films.

Shooting People
Is a UK-wide online membership organisation with over 30,000 members. The group centres around a selection of daily and weekly email newsletters, but also organises regular networking, training, and screen events.

Documentary Filmmakers Group (London)
The Documentary Filmmakers Group (DFG) is a comprehensive resource for documentary filming and has been running since 2001, operating as a non-profit organisation. DFG's work falls into three main strands: training, the running of screenings, festivals and forums, and production. The organisation aims to encourage, stimulate, promote and support the growth of a strong community of documentary filmmakers and film audiences.
