filmmaking.net toolshed submission policy

Thank you for your interest in submitting software to the filmmaking.net toolshed software archive. Please review our software submission policy below before sending us your application or template.

software submission policy

  1. Directly related to filmmaking. All software submitted must be *directly* related to filmmaking. Examples of acceptable types of software include templates (screenplay, call sheet, camera logs, etc), plug-ins for popular post-production applications, and video editing programs. Software which is not directly related to the filmmaking process (eg. word processors, web development tools, generic image manipulation programs, icon collections! etc) will not be listed.
  2. Download available. A downloadable version of the application must be available for free. This may be freeware, shareware, open source, or a demo version of a commercial application. Downloads are not hosted by filmmaking.net, so the downloadable version must also be acessible on the Internet.
  3. No spyware etc. filmmaking.net is against all forms of illicit adware, spyware, and malware. Applications submitted must not install any other program without the user's expressed consent (hiding consent amongst lengthy license text is unacceptable), nor must the application incorporate any function which would be commonly seen as infringing the user's right to online privacy.
  4. No illegal software. The application must be legal and must not infringe on any copyrights or trademarks held by a third-party. Although we do not agree with it, the terms of the United States' wholely unsound Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DCMA") prevent us from listing any application which might be construed as one which may be used to bypass copyright protections.
  5. Submission does not guarantee listing. Listing of an application or template in the toolshed is completely at the discretion of filmmaking.net. We reserve the right to edit the information provided with the submission for appropriate content and/or length. Submissions will not appear on the site until they have been approved by a filmmaking.net editor.
