| first off, how recent does the film have to be? 2nd, I can think of a few that deal with the feminist theory: that western with Sharon STone is one of them. |

For feminism it might be interesting to look at a few horror movies, given that they have a tradition of women surviving while all the men get killed off ('Alien' being one very obvious example).

Lots of papers and news articles have been written about feminism and horror, most from a negative point of view. There have been a few from a positive point of view. One I read recently was about the girl survivor in Nightmare on Elmstreet 1 who not only survived but actively figured out the problem and prepared herself for Freddies attack.
I've also seen an interesting website dedicated to the fact that African Americans rarely survive in horror movies. There are a small handful but it seems diversity can only get them into the movies, it can't ensure their survival.
Anyway if you want to go back to the list I'd chose psychoanalysis and concentrate on Silence of the Lambs or Red Dragon since they are all about profiling which is psychoanalysis to some degree. I don't really know what the psychoanalysis film theory actually is but the movie is dripping in psychoanalysis of the non-film theory variety. |

Yeah, 'Nightmare on Elm Street' was one of the other examples I was thinking of: her approach to dealing with the problem was pretty unsual for the time period :).

In some cases that's deliberate, though: as far as I remember 'Night of the Living Dead' was meant in part to be a Vietnam allegory, for example. |

| I'm sure you could find plenty to discuss in Adaptation, or another Kaufman film. Though I'm Not sure that that's something you'd want to take on... I wouldn't, unless I had lots of time and was at least 20%, lets make it 10% smarter. |

OH!!! i was just about to say persona... not only is the cinematography interesting and breathtaking, but the whole film deals with feminism and psychoanalysis...
