filmmaking.net events submission policy

Thank you for your interest in listing your event on filmmaking.net. Please review our submission policy below before adding your event.

event submission policy

  1. Directly related to filmmaking. All events must be directly related to filmmaking and relevant to filmmakers. Examples of acceptable event-types include: short training courses, conferences or lectures, exhibitions or markets, film festivals, social/networking events, and filmmaking competitions. Events that are not related to filmmaking will not be listed.
  2. Event Duration. We can only list events which run for up to one month (30 days). If your event runs multiple times over the year you are free to submit each instance as a seperate event. On-going events (e.g. "we're giving away $1,000 each month for the best screenplay submitted") are not eligible for listing.
  3. No film premieres. Sorry, but these are only of interest to a very small number of people and there are just too many to list. Film screening events which incorporate interviews or panels with recognisable industry figures are fine.
  4. Genuine events. All events must be genuine, legal, and not intended to deceive or mislead attendees for any purpose.
  5. Events must be submitted in English. filmmaking.net is an English-language site. All events must be submitted in English, regardless of where they will take place.
  6. This site is international. filmmaking.net is more than happy for you to submit an event for local filmmakers in your area. However, when entering the details please keep in mind that filmmaking.net speaks to an international audience. Make sure that you are clear about locations, restrictions, and any other relevant information.
  7. Submission does not guarantee listing. Listing of an event is completely at the discretion of filmmaking.net. We reserve the right to edit the your submission for appropriate content and/or length. Submissions will not appear on the site until they have been approved by a filmmaking.net editor.
  8. No Spam. It should go without saying. All events are reviewed by filmmaking.net before they become visible on the site. Spam postings will be deleted immediately without being seen by any filmmaking.net users.
  9. No Film Festival "Call for Entries" Notices! Please feel free to post information about your film festival (i.e. when it takes place, what its purpose is, highlights etc), but any "calls for entry" should be posted in the film festivals group in the Discussion area of the site. The events area is about promoting your actual event, not the call for entries leading up to it.
» OK. I agree to the terms of your submission policy, let's submit!
