Filmmakers get an opportunity to make themselves famous

By Kyle Pretorius, posted 2 December 2008

42Below, a New Zealand based Vodka company, is providing filmmakers with a unique opportunity to earn USD $4200 and showcase their talent to the world.

The theme is Because We Can and the aim is for filmmakers to create or capture an endeavour that encapsulates this theme. An 'endeavour' is an activity that is planned and executed by an individual or group of people that could be defined as being 'unexpected'. Activities can be event based, a special interest hobby, a special talent or an everyday occurrence approached in a different way.

The December competition is under way, and will be running until midnight on the 31st December 2008. To enter make sure that you are of legal drinking age in your country of residence. All entries that meet the Competition Guidelines will be showcased on the site under the User Generated section. This is the perfect opportunity for filmmakers to stretch their imaginations, test their film making skills, and potentially earn some money and fame in the process.

To see examples and get inspiration for 'Because We Can' endeavours, go to the Things We've Done and Things We Like sections of the site Because We Can Online. 42Below endeavour-videos such as Sunbathing Beauties (embedded below), Sand Surfer, and It's going to be OK and have already gained much international attention and buzz.

'Because We Can' is the ultimate in open briefs. It's about people celebrating an independent spirit. It's about people celebrating those who fulfill their dreams and activate their creativity. 42Below is providing an opportunity to create an endeavour that has the potential to delight and surprise.
